Expectations for a Ketogenic Diet

Besides the common benefits and possible drawbacks, here are some common experiences of people who attempt a keto diet.

Time to adapt — Most are fully keto-adapted in 3-4 weeks.

Weight changes — Many lose water weight within the first many days and then their weight fluctuates until they are fully keto adapted. After adaptation, most lose weight gradually and arrive at a stable weight that's governed partly by what you eat but mostly by your total caloric intake vs expenditure.
